During the Covid-19 Pandemic, we began taking precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. To protect the safety of our valued customers and staff we instituted a paperless transaction system. We have chosen to continue this policy.
Before coming to our yard, please call ahead as our staff may be limited or working remotely, and our office doors will be locked to limit face-to-face interactions.
All transactions continue to be paperless – all pickup and delivery orders must be paid in advance by credit card taken over the phone. Please call us at 248‑348‑3150 to place and pay for your order.

The Hacker Family – over 75 years of Service
Hacker Services LLC is the parent company to White Trucking, Northville Supply Yard, Mulch Merchants and Hacker Firewood.
How did we get here?
We come from a long line of family-owned service companies, beginning in the 1940s with Russel Hacker’s coal, ice and milk delivery business. In the 1960s, the company was handed over to his son Roy. When demand for coal and ice waned, Roy transformed the business into Hacker Firewood and Landscaping Services in Farmington Hills.
The company grew to become one of the largest firewood distributors in Southeast Michigan, and became known for affordable landscaping services. In 1979, Roy turned the companies over to his son, Roy Jr.
Adding on
Roy Jr.’s wife Karla, son Roy III, and daughter Krystal all work for the company, each bringing unique skills and knowledge to the team.
In 1998, we added expanded services by purchasing White Trucking and moving the entire operation to our current location on Chubb Road in Northville, introducing landscape supplies through our new Northville Supply Yard division.
A slight change in direction
With the landscape supply business booming, our family decided to leave the landscaping services sector and enter the mulch processing market. In 2010, we purchased our first tub grinder.
The mulch business proved successful and in 2014 the owners of one of our wholesale mulch clients, Nursery Merchant in Whitmore Lake, decided to retire and we took over their business under the new name Mulch Merchants, moving the operation to our Northville location.
Continuing the tradition
Today, our customers (landscape professionals and homeowners) can expect the same quality products and great service that our family has offered for the past seventy years.
